Hey guys, I'm just looking for the most recent version of PCSX2 I can run on my MacBook Pro. I went through the hassle of setting up my controller and everything but when I started up Persona 3 FES, the version I have went to the ps2 menu, I moved the cursor to the disc and selected it, and then the screen went black for a few seconds and returned to the ps2 menu. Does anyone have a better version that works for them? Any and all help would be appreciated, I have the 0.9.8 version that I downloaded from a Google Drive.zip file, and it runs in wineskin. Thanks in advance for anyone who offers some info! That's not true at all. We just don't have the resources to develop both Mac and Windows versions at the same time. The original port to the Mac was an unofficial side project by former contributor, Zedr0n. There's still a few quirks with OSX that may make compatibility difficult in it's present state. I also believe that WINE is still required to run PCSX2 on Mac. Please read the PCSX2 forums for information before you start spewing junk that isn't true. An attitude like that doesn't motivate us to work on a Mac port at all. The Mac side of things is a rather small handful of users right now so unfortunately it's just not our top priority. As said before, emulation stuff comes first. We can worry about ports and other luxuries in the future once the framework is in order. 'minus the important part'. Ok, i know i repeat myself on these threads, and people i address this to don't like what i have to say, but i'll say it again: Apple is a divide and conquer 'cut your face to spite your nose' company. That they don't have the latest possible opengl support and still pursue their white unicorn metal is absolutely part of a wrongheaded strategy of theirs (it actually reminds me of the '3d api wars' during the late DOS era). You should just ditch their OS, if not their hardware, if you have the expectation of other people coming in to fix their intentional omissions. I'd say ditch the hardware too, but that's me and i didn't pay for it. Ok, i'll decode the semi-helpful part of that post: my opinion then, is that until and unless apple decides to not sabotage standards, you can do nothing for pcsx2 or any other 4.1+ gl requiring app by pressuring the devs, that don't even use MacOS. Instead, and this may or may not work; because i don't have the hardware or the intent to search for proof, is that your best option of a workaround is something like bootcamp to install windows or linux, and take advantage of the opengl drivers developed for those OS. This may not be what you wanted to read, but it's realistic. Though i'm actually rather confused about this post. PCSX2 doesn't require GL4.1+. But if the incompatibility comes from another 'mac standard', i wouldn't hold my breath either (i know iOS devices forbid non-approved JITs by disabling self compiled code except for signed apps, which emulators never are for instance).
